Genomics Translational Readiness Lead

Job Description
The KPRB Translational Readiness Core (TRC) Lead will assume primary responsibility for developing and managing the Translational Readiness Core and ensuring that the TRC implements and evaluates strategies for increasing the implementation of KPRB data into clinical care. This includes engaging with key clinical, research, and patient stakeholders, developing strong relationships with clinical partners, and identifying projects and data with a high likelihood of impacting the care delivery system. The TRC lead will also lead special implementation pilots on behalf of the KPRB.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Primary responsibility for developing and managing the day to day operations of the Translational Readiness Core including managing collaborators and staff at the TRC.
  • Develop and lead implementation pilots, including developing proposals, administering and developing budgets, and managing staff and collaborators.
  • Develop strong collaborations with clinical, research, and patient stakeholders including developing and leading working groups and stakeholder advisory groups.
  • Publish and present TRC work in peer-reviewed journals and national/international conferences.
  • Participate in regular KPRB functional unit leadership team meetings and ensure that TRC goals, mission/vision, and activities are aligned with KPRB and other KPRB functional units.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Minimum eight (8) years experience managing research projects or clinical programs that use genomics data, to include experience managing large-scale implementation, research projects, leading clinical care, or patient tracking programs, with two (2) years of experience working in the field of genomics.
  • Master's degree in genetics, biology, genetic counselling, public health, healthcare administration, or another directly related discipline required.
License, Certification, Registration
  • N/A

Additional Requirements:
  • Experienced physician, genetic counselor, or implementation scientist with specific expertise in translational genomics or precision medicine and familiarity managing large implementation projects in clinical environments.
  • Work experience to include leading translational, implementation, or delivery sciences projects (i.e. projects with direct impact on clinical delivery systems).
  • Experience working in an interdisciplinary environment, particularly working between multiple clinical, research, and patient stakeholders.
  • Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • M.D., or Ph.D. in life sciences, public health, basic sciences, or related disciplines, with specific training in genomics or precision medicine, biobanking, population health, and/or bioethics.
