Regional Registered Nurse Assessment Coordinator (RNAC)
The Regional Registered Nurse Assessment Coordinator (RNAC) will oversee the day-to-day function of the MDS departments in each of our 6 facilities.
The Regional Registered Nurse Assessment Coordinator (RNAC) is responsible to supervise the coordination fulfillment of regulations relative to the MDS and associated forms, coordinate the interdisciplinary Plan of Care, to ensure appropriate utilization of services relative to levels of care, and to assist in ensuring that the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times for each of the residents.
Job Description:
  • Ensures that each MDS department is fully functional and cooperative according to federal, state and facility regulations including:
  • Reviewing current Medicare charts on a regular basis to ensure documentation compliance of Medicare Regulation
  • Coordinating Plan of Care with clinical team
  • Ensuring Pain assessments and CAAs care plans are addressed
  • Utilization Reviews in Medicare NOMNC/ABN Letters, Medicare Certifications, hospital referral review, evaluation of hospital records for ICD10 coding, setting of ARD dates, etc., of admissions and readmissions, OBRA scheduling, Part B Authorization as needed, CMI Picture Date
  • Fully maintaining the confidentiality of all resident care information
  • Coordinating information with other departments when coding MDS
  • Ensures that all employees maintain RNAC certification and recertification requirements every 2 years to keep up with all updates and changes in MDS coding as needed
  • Provides ongoing education of caregivers regarding MDS coding monthly
  • Develops and implements established orientation program for new employees where appropriate
  • Maintains a good working rapport with facility RNACs as MDS employees, as well as other departments within the facility to assure that nursing services and activities can be adequately maintained to meet the needs of the residents
  • Creates and maintains an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest and positive emphasis, as well as a calm environment
  • Participates in weekly CMI meetings
  • Performs other related job duties as required
  • Must have a current RN license in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania RNAC Certification
  • 1+ years MDS experience
  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • Pennsylvania RN – Registered Nurse
  • RNAC Certification
