Administrative Assistant- Personal Lines Insurance

Location: Tarrytown, NY
Job Summary:
Our growing and well established 60 person family owned insurance agency in Tarrytown NY is looking to hire a full time personal lines assistant to join a team of five motivated Personal Lines Account Executives. The ideal candidate would have their license or at least have some personal lines insurance experience and should enjoy working in a team environment. They would have excellent communication and written skills, combined with a positive attitude. We are looking for a fast learner who is detailed oriented, reliable, honest and is willing to continuously keep up to date and advance their knowledge in this field . This assistant role will also have the ability to grow into an Account Executive role.

Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Take calls from auto dealers and issue auto insurance ID cards and binder.
  • Process evidence of insurance for home closings and re-finances.
  • Send certificates of insurance to auto leasing and finance companies.
  • Process policy changes/updates for account executives/clients.
  • Be able to prepare a summary of insurance.
  • Ability to navigate and quote on carrier websites.
  • Work cooperatively and closely with Account Executives in day to day client support.
  • Pull cancellation and reinstatement notices off the carrier website and handle per company procedure.
  • Billing

Qualifications and Skills:
  • One year prior Personal Lines insurance experience.
  • Prior experience with all or some the following carriers: Chubb, ACE, AIG, Pure, Cincinnati, Travelers, and Adirondack. If none, we would be willing to train the right candidate.
  • Licensed or at least willing to become licensed.
