Bilingual (Spanish) Pharmacy Technician

Location: Saint Paul, MN
Candidate MUST be bilingual in Spanish.
REPORTS TO: Pharmacy Manager
SUMMARY: Provide high-quality pharmaceutical care to clinic patients.

  • Bilingual English/Spanish required
  • Eye-hand coordination, manual dexterity and ability to read and not appropriate measurements.
  • Problem-solving skills. Ability to handle multiple tasks; ability to manage details.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with a variety of people.
  • Ability to work effectively as a member of a healthcare team.
  • Reliable transportation: Traveling to multiple clinic sites.
  • Previous experience as a pharmacy technician preffered.

Education, licensure, registration:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Pharmacy Technician experience in a community setting preferred.
  • Certification by Pharmacy Technician Certification Board preferred.

  • Maintain compliance with all applicable laws, rules and regulations, including those related to preparation/packaging/storage of products.
  • Accurately enter written/electronic prescription orders into the pharmacy dispensing system.
  • Accurately prepare prescription orders that have been processed through the pharmacy dispensing system for final pharmacist check.
  • Collect cash from pharmacy customers.
  • Aid in inventory management including but not limited to: updating medication on hand quantities, sending the daily drug order and verifying the daily received drug order.
  • Aid in the processing of indigent patient drug program applications.
  • Aid in the timely processing and authorization of outside pharmacy clinic patient refill requests.
  • Maintain and utilize Script Pro SP 200 Robot according to established policies and procedures.
  • Prepare and package prescriptions appropriately for mailing and central fill.
  • Provide drug and poison information to patients and staff.
  • Aid in training of pharmacy students, residents and technicians regarding dispensing responsibilities, policies and procedures.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.

Receives daily work direction from the Pharmacist. Works within the scope of the job description/job responsibilities with general direction. Consults with others as appropriate

  • Culturally diverse medical clinic setting.
  • Travel to multiple clinic sites.
  • Frequent exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, medicinal preparations and other conditions common to pharmacy.
  • Standing, bending, stopping, twisting and reaching.
