Medical Trainer- RN- Behavioral Health

Location: Baton Rouge, LA
Job Description
Position Purpose: Conduct training sessions covering specific areas related to the Medical Management function. Build and administer a universal training curriculum and employ technologies to ensure achievement of the Company’s long term goals, enhance training development, efficiencies, standardization and reduce training costs. Develop teaching aids such as training handbooks, demonstration models, multimedia visual aids, computer tutorials, and reference work.
  • Conducting new employee training sessions.
  • Conduct comprehensive training needs assessment.
  • Audit guidelines for medical necessity (Interqual) in the case management database (CCMS).
  • Assist with authorization issues as it relates to claims adjudication.
  • Organize and deliver training material to specific departments.
  • Assist with training staff on new lines of business.
  • Participate in Medical Advisory Committee (MAC) meetings.
  • Participate in provider educational meeting.
  • Reference and training material development.
  • Will be required to travel- 20%

Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in nursing or equivalent experience. 4+ years of Case Management, Utilization Management, training and/or auditing/QI experience. 

License/Certification: RN license. Certified Case Manager (CCM) preferred.
