We have an opening for a Senior Analyst-Risk Analytics at our corporate headquarters located in Spokane, Washington.  The Senior Analyst will support the Enterprise Risk Management team by using analytical tools and capabilities to provide objective assurance and advisory services in the identification and monitoring of significant risks and risk response strategies and actions. This is a full time position reporting to the Vice President of Enterprise Risk Management.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develops predictive key risk indicator metrics to assist management in the early identification of risk trends; conducts detailed analysis and data mining to identify, validate, and enumerate existing and emerging risks.
  • Prepares reports, data visualizations, and presentations that outline findings, explain risk positions, and recommended changes. Partners with business unit management to prepare risk self-assessments, including analyzing the stated controls, identifying gaps, and creating action plans.
  • Conducts analysis and draws conclusions of stress test scenarios involving stress to portfolios, commodities, interest rates and capital levels.
  • Leads risk analytics initiatives around model development, statistical analysis, predictive analytics and data visualization.
  • Maintains a trusted, collaborative relationship with organization management to promote an appropriate level of engagement in ERM activities.
  • Provides guidance to business units in the identification, evaluation, understanding, management, and communication of significant risks; assists with the development and maintenance of risk frameworks, methodologies and assessments.
  • Performs calculations and data analysis to produce the quarterly allowance for credit losses (ACL) deliverables; contributes to internal management reporting of the ACL and ensures appropriate controls and validations are conducted throughout the ACL process.
  • Develops and maintains end user applications including databases and spreadsheets to assist with the management and performance of risk management functions.
  • Provides administration for risk management software programs including maintaining the data quality of systems.
  • Serves as a liaison with farm credit system risk analytics workgroups. Analyzes new legislation to determine impacts on risk exposure.

Successful candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Analytics, Mathematics/Statistics, Data Science/Management, Ag Econ or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; Master's degree preferred . The ideal candidate will possess at least five years’ financial institution experience in risk management, business analytics, audit or production or operations rolessystems and data analysis skills including proficiency with Power BI, R, SQL, QRM, Business Objects, Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Visio, and other data analysis tools; knowledge of statistical and financial analytical tools, accounting principles (GAAP), risk management and internal control standards (e.g., COSO, COBIT, SOX, regulations); and knowledge of economic, financial and agricultural practices having a potential impact on credit and risk exposure.

Certificates/licenses:  CPA or Data Analytics Certification preferred.
