Ranch Manager

Location: Glen Ellen, CA
Benziger Family Winery is seeking a full time Ranch Manager to help with facility and ranch operations in Sonoma County. The Ranch Manager must be familiar with Winery compliance, government regulations, and OSHA standards. The ideal candidate will have great technical aptitude, strong problem solving skills, and the drive to work with multiple departments on projects. They would also love to work with their hands, and must be passionate about Safety, compliance, and wine quality.

  • Ensuring facilities meet government regulations and environmental, health and security standards
  • Overseeing building projects, renovations or refurbishments
  • Overseeing and approving contracts and providers for services including security, renovations, cleaning, plumbing, electrical, construction
  • Coordinating with department heads and building contractors
  • Negotiating bids and contracts for third party workers
  • Coordinating building security and maintenance services

  • Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan, Storm Sampling, Best Management Practices and reporting
  • Hazardous waste business plan reporting, inspections, and facility compliance
  • Refrigeration Management and annual reporting
  • Benziger and Imagery Safety program and OSHA regulations
  • Facility maintenance programs and managing maintenance department
  • Assist with managing annual and project budgets
  • Project management – including permits, compliance, contracting vendors, developing and achieving project timelines, allocating company resources, and budgeting.
  • Responsible for winery security and disaster prevention at all times

  • Valid driver’s license
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Plumbing, mechanical, carpentry, and electrical skills
  • Must be familiar with domestic water systems, Process waste systems, and water compliance
  • Familiar with California Air resource board compliance and regulation
  • Willing to obtain any appropriate/necessary driver’s license
  • Must be self-motivated and self-directed with strong time management skills
  • Must be organized and possess strong communication skills both verbally and written
  • Possess solid analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work in all outside weather temperatures and conditions
  • Bending, lifting, pulling & pushing up to 50 lbs. on a frequent basis for various tasks.
