Maintenance Specialist

Location: New Kensington, PA
Maintain, repair and install equipment and utilities to support manufacturing and business operations at Leeds.

  • Performs routine scheduled maintenance on all production equipment
  • Sets up and runs production equipment for troubleshooting purposes
  • Keeps preventive maintenance log book
  • Keeps inventory of PM parts for production equipment
  • Interacts with Technical Coordinators to solve difficult issues
  • Interacts with machine manufacturers and Tech Support as needed
  • Performs routine indoor and outdoor building maintenance and special projects, light bulb changes, ceiling tile replacement, communication boards, furniture repair and installation, doors and lock repairs, among many others.
  • Troubleshoots machines and systems independently.
  • Daily maintenance on facility equipment.
  • Performs routing Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing, Pneumatic and Hydraulic repairs.
  • Performs light carpentry and some light cleaning.
  • Maintains electrical and PLC Repairs and Projects.
  • Performs all duties to OSHA, NEC, NFPA 70 or any necessary standards.
  • Performs complex HVAC, Plumbing, and Hydraulic duties.
  • Performs complex carpentry and some finish carpentry as needed.
  • Fabricates custom parts for emergency repairs.
  • Operates forklift and Scissors lift as needed.
  • Opens and Closes the building with the security system to support production.
  • Supports Emergency Response team when needed.
  • Leads projects with direction from Supervisor and Engineers.
  • Reads basic schematics, blueprints and various production meters.
  • Repairs equipment by fabricating parts, simple machining, wiring, and other general repair skills.
  • Assists in the analysis of failures with other engineering and plant personnel.
  • Assists on technical emergency repairs after working hours if necessary.
  • 3 phase electrical experience to 480 volts minimum.
  • Assist and work with workers on tool change and set up issues.
  • Assemble, disassemble industrial equipment and machinery.
  • Recommend measures to improve production equipment, metrics and continuous improvement.
  • Assist outside contractors on site as needed" Train and mentor others in the department and out as a leader and source of technical knowledge
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Knowledge of AC/DC power, motors and controls
  • Welding and cutting skills: MIG TIG and stick, plasma and Oxy/Acetylene
  • Multiple tasking
  • Works well both independently and with others
  • Works with and aide outside Contractors and Vendors
  • Good organizational skills
  • Working at heights and some heavy lifting required
  • Carry a cell phone provided by company for urgent communications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Technical degree or certification
  • Electrical Certification is a plus
  • HVAC, Plumbing, or hydraulics/pneumatics experience preferred
  • Electronics Tech experience to board level component replacement preferred
  • Valid drivers license as occasional trips to other buildings are necessary
  • High Level Electrical Experience 480 Volt 3 phase, as well as PLC experience preferred
