We are looking for a full time Board Certified Psychiatric to join our team. We are a rapidly growing in a rural area where Mental Health is in demand.

Small practice anchored in the small town of Zebulon. We work closely with the community and Eastern Wake Department of Social Services. Our staff is a close knit group who work in collaboration to meet the needs of our clients. Our client base ranges from pediatrics to older adults and includes substance abuse. Responsibilities and Duties
  • The Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) provides direct patient care services and performs medical acts as a Nurse Practitioner under the supervision of the supervisory physician to patients requiring psychiatric evaluation and management in the outpatient clinic. The Nurse Practitioner performs physical and mental health exams, collects and documents data, conducts diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, orders and schedules laboratory studies and professional consultations, prescribes appropriate interventions and medications, and provides direct patient care services. The PMHNP contributes to excellence in patient care, research, teaching, and provides leadership in the organization.
  • Responsible to: The NP practices independently and in close collaboration with the Supervising Physician and under the supervision of all back-up attending physician(s) listed in the Collaborative Practice / Supervising Physician Agreement.
  • Process of Evaluation: Evaluation will be ongoing and will encompass the six general areas of competency as defined by The Joint Commission (patient care, medical/clinical knowledge, practice-based learning & improvement, interpersonal & communication skills, professionalism and systems-based practice). Annual and midyear evaluations will be conducted in coordination with NP’s primary supervising physician.Ongoing Review of Care and Quality Improvement meetings with supervising physician will be conducted and documented monthly for the first six months, then at least once every six months in accordance with the NC Medical Board.

Qualifications and Skills
  • At least 1 year of experience working with Mental Health patients
  • Proficient in the English language, both in writing and speaking to be able to communicate clearly with all stakeholders, including patients, families, clinic staff and other healthcare professionals
  • Possess and maintain graduate professional nurse, and nurse practitioner registration in a state, which must be unrestricted, current, complete, and active
  • Obtain Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner or Mental Health Nurse Practitioner certification from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC)
  • Possess Bachelor’s degree in Nursing followed by a Master’s degree in Psychiatric or Mental Health Nursing from a state approved and accredited school for professional nursing training
  • Possess strong understanding of societies and their impact on mental health; ability to solve problems, monitor and examine patients
  • Be compassionate, sensitive, and possess strong reasoning and thinking skills
  • Possess strong computer skills, including working with word processing and data entering applications, as well as with medical software applications
