Benefits Coordinator

Location: College Point, NY
Jetro Holdings, LLC located in College Point, NY has the following full-time position available. The Benefits Coordinator will be responsible for assisting with the administration of all benefits and retirement programs, including but not limited to medical, dental, vision, life insurance, Leave of Absence Policy including short- and long-term disability, and 401(k) plan, and other company benefits.

Some of the Essential Functions include:
  • Communicate the enrollment process and benefit communication to all eligible employees
  • Assisting employees with health, dental, life, disability and other related benefit claims.
  • Calculate monthly premium statements for all group insurance policies.
  • Working with accounting 401k contributions
  • Organize meetings designed to help employees obtain information and understand company benefits and other related incentive programs. Ensure distribution of required employee notices.
  • Responding to benefits inquiries from managers and employees on plan provisions, benefits enrollments, status changes and other general inquiries.
  • Processing and administering all leave-of-absence requests and disability paperwork: medical, personal, disability and FMLA. Effectively interpret FMLA and ADA implications as they relate to leaves of absences/disabilities including state specific disability plans and leave of absence laws
  • Responding to 401(k) inquiries from managers and employees relating to enrollments, plan changes, loans, hardship withdrawals, and contribution amounts. Managing the annual catch-up contribution enrollment.
  • Administering the tuition reimbursement program.
  • Assist in the completion of the annual 401k and assists with the end of year compliance and discrimination testing
  • Produce a new hire, termination and absence reports for executives
  • Assist with the reporting requirements under the ACA
  • Special projects and other duties as assigned

Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field.
  • 2+ years of prior benefit administration experience required.
  • Effective communication skills, oral & written with the ability to effectively communicate with people in potentially stressful situations.
  • Experience in Word, Excel, and HRIS with experience in ADP-EV preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet daily, weekly, and monthly deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem solving skills.
  • Commitment to attendance
