Internal Wholesaler

Wholesalers, Retirement Plan Counselors, and the Internal Sales and Support team are the front line to generating more than US$200 billion in annual sales. There are a number of groups that are instrumental to the effort, providing insights and analytics, product development and management, marketing, public relations, conferences, events and more.   As an Internal Wholesaler based in Carmel, Indiana you will sit within the Internal Sales and Support team. Our goal is to raise and retain assets. We will count on you to develop, strengthen, and maintain relationships in order to sell American Funds products. You will identify advisors' needs within your territory by providing consultative solutions with confidence and integrity, while uncovering opportunities to discuss products/options.   

• Execute strategic business coverage by partnering with the external wholesaler to cover assigned territory
• Initiate sales by making personalized proactive outbound calls to financial advisors (50-60 outbond calls per day) 
• Exhibit deep knowledge of investments and investment concepts 
• Deliver effective presentations to promote American Funds    
• Use client relationship management (SalesForce) database  to track client interactions and the progression of each client relationship.

• Bachelor's degree preferred 
• FINRA 6, 63, 65 required for this position 
o MUST pass the FINRA licensing exams for the 6, 63 within 5 weeks of hire 
o MUST pass the FINRA licensing exam for the 65 within 3 attempts 
• 2+ years of direct sales experience 
• Clear and concise communication with an expertise in adapting to different audiences  
• Ability to articulate specific sales strategy and process 
• Well-organized with acute attention to detail
