Safety & Health Coordinator I

Location: Normal, IL
Bachelor's Degree in Safety Management OR Related Field AND 1-3 Years of Full-Time Safety And Health Experience.
Master's Degree in Safety Management and 0-1 Years of Full-Time Safety & Health Experience.

*Assist in the development of a comprehensive safety management system.
*Assist in coordination of all industrial hygiene activities to include medical surveillance, air monitoring, noise, hazard communications, laser, ventilation, radiation, chemical approval, etc.
*Assist in coordination of the fire prevention programs including routine inspections and testing, issue of hot work permits, and the Company rep. with the Property Insurance Carrier and Local Fire Authorities.
*Assist in hazard communications program including maintenance of SDS for all chemicals/materials in the facility.
*Guidance on Regulatory and Legislative Matters (OSHA, ANSI, NFPA, WC) and assist the Safety, Medical, and Security Manager with Government Compliance Inspections and Activities.
*Help Coordinate and Manage the Plant's Hearing Conservation and Noise Programs. Ensure appropriate noise monitoring is conducted.
*Assist in ensuring compliance standards and requirements such as LockOut/TagOut, Confined Space Entry, Personal Protective Equipment, Machine Guarding, Electrical Safety, Etc.
*Assist Engineering with New & Modified Equipment Risk Assessments, Design Reviews & Approval, Ventilation and Preventative Maintenance Issues.
*Help Develop, Coordinate, and, at times, Provide the Mandatory Education/Training Required by OSHA and other Government Agencies to include Conducting Safety Training as part of New Hire Orientation.
*Provide Support and Information to Corporate Safety, Legal, Labor Relaions, Risk Management, Manufacturing, Engineering, Medical, and Human Resources as directed/needed.
*Develop a Rapport and work Closely with Union Safety Committee and Other Union Representation.
