Manager, Information Technology - Application Development/Dev Ops

Location: Chesterfield, MO
Position Purpose: Manage department staff including hiring, performance management and career development to ensure alignment with defined goals.
  • Plan and direct the daily activities of a team focused on a particular system or technology.
  • Liaison with managers in IT and other functions, applying standard solutions and processes.
  • Apply specific technical expertise in depth to address technical and business issues.
 
Scope:
  • This position is responsible for the design, delivery, management, and availability of the enterprise APIs around the Membership application. 
  • This position will include hiring, performance management and career development to ensure alignment with defined goals.
  • This leader should develop strategies for technology roadmaps and implement technology efficiency standards, including architecture, design, coding, and testing.  Apply technical, architectural and process expertise to support development teams in delivering high-quality solutions according to published release schedules.


Key responsibilities:
  • Partner with architect and IT leaders on the development and implementation of strategic initiatives.
  • Create partnerships with IT and Business across the organization to ensure alignment on product vision.
  • Apply technical expertise across application teams to remove impediments, standardize and implement best practices, and drive technology innovation.
  • Collaborate with members of the leadership team on career development of team members with specific focus on technology

Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, related field or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of related IT experience.
  • Previous experience as a lead in a functional area, managing cross functional teams on large scale projects or supervisory experience including hiring, training, assigning work and managing the performance of staff.
 
Preferred Experience:
  • Experience managing Agile and Dev Ops teams; Developing high performing teams with a focus on Continuous Integration and Deployment.
  • Experience or knowledge with Java, Kafka, Node.js, Go Lang, Docker, and Kubernetes
  • No SQL database experience, Mongo or Cassandra.
  • Experience with public and private cloud environments.
  • Experience in a service oriented or microservices architecture environment.
  • Proven ability to solve and lead an organization through complex technology problems.
  • Ability to communicate at multiple levels.
