Payroll Business Analyst

Location: Clayton, MO, United States
Position Purpose: Administer all systems utilized by Centene’s payroll department. Coordinate business requirements and testing, provide support, and validate data to ensure timely and accurate payroll data processing and to support business decision making.
  • Audit employee data and payroll entries that interface from the HRIS system or external systems into payroll systems to ensure overall integrity of data within payroll systems. Research and resolve entries that do not properly load into or export out of the payroll systems
  • Provide support to users and troubleshoot unusual data entries, conditions, or issues with data interfacing into or out of payroll systems
  • Review data, identify inconsistencies, and act as a liaison between user groups to troubleshoot issues
  • Run payroll reports from HRIS or Payroll system for changes related to the pay period and provide to the payroll team
  • Perform regular payroll data/system audits to maintain data integrity and to ensure compliance with internal and external audit controls as well as legal requirements and guidelines
  • Support company or department changes such as acquisition and divestiture activities, re-organizations, workforce planning initiatives through data reporting
  • Assist in the design, development, testing, implementation, upgrading, and support of new or modified Payroll system changes
  • Assist in coordinating internal Payroll projects and small cross functional projects

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 0-2 years of financial or data analysis experience. Workday, ADP, and EmpCenter knowledge preferred.
  • Experience with compliance and financial reporting is preferred. 

  • WorkDay or recognized Payroll System Certification preferred. American Payroll Association FPC or CPP preferred.
