Digital Travel Consultant

Location: Dearborn, MI, United States
Primary Duties and Responsibilities (details of the basic job functions):
Responsible for digital travel P&L: including sales, revenue, marketing expense and profit.  Lead travel digital strategy development, plan development, and cross-functional implementation.  Also responsible for the digital user experience and leads cohesive change management across ACG functions to ensure elevated digital capabilities, appropriate digital standards and effective data governance. 
  • Participate on the AAA National Online Travel Agency Task Force.
  • Lead ACG’s relationship with Priceline Partner Network in collaboration with IT teams.
  • Use Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), web analytics, search engine optimization (SEO) and marketing metrics to assess business performance and user experience, and to identify opportunities and plan adjustments as needed. 
  • Improve the capture, organization, access, interpretation and application of digital data and results.
  • Determine factors that influence customer goals, needs and desired experiences.  Identify mental models digital users follow when booking travel online.
  • Assess market and competitive dynamics and generate insights from research.
  • Generate innovative ideas to increase web traffic and increase conversion.
  • Represent the Travel line of business in ACG-wide digital strategy and roadmap development and system capability assessments.
  • Initiate process and system improvements to achieve digital best practices and actively transition ACG practices to digital-first solutions. 
  • Work closely across ACG functions to implement new and improved features on 
  • Collaborate to create interaction models and prototypes to capture desired user experiences and translate to functional specifications.
  • Ensure internal teams have appropriate training to utilize digital technologies, including results tracking tools.
  • Lead collaboration across functions to embrace digital change.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • MBA preferred
  • Experience with Adobe Analytics and Google Analytics.
Work Environment:
Work in a temperature-controlled office environment.  Travel may be required with exposure to road hazards and temperature extremes.
Required Qualifications (these are the minimum requirements to qualify):
Education (include minimum education and any licensing/certifications):
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Information Technology
  • Possession of a valid State Driver’s License

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience managing digital strategy development, ideally in the travel vertical.
  • Experience successfully managing a digital P&L and delivering KPIs.
  • Proven record of dramatically improving digital capabilities and executing digital strategy across multiple markets.
  • Success in driving organizational change.
  • Demonstrated success in identifying forward-looking, strategic innovation and implementing flawlessly in a collaborative manner.
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Understanding of data strategy and how this enables digital success.
  • High level understanding of digital trends and customer engagement techniques and measures.
  • Proven experience with Web-analytic tools,
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, time management practices and project management.
