Engineering Project Manager

Location: Nashville, TN, United States

  • Independently initiates and establishes a plan to meet customer requirements for a new or changed product, process, system or technology.
  • Leads design efforts for new or revised products, processes, systems and technologies. Conducts design, project and/or management reviews.
  • Proposes new programs/projects to enhance performance or increase capabilities for the business. Plans and executes the programs/projects.
  • Leads projects including defining scope, design criteria, budgets, resource needs, and establishing and managing to the project schedule. Ensures the cost effective and timely completion of project deliverables.
  • Contributes to the planning and development of engineering strategy, and provides technical leadership, for the area of the organization to which they are assigned.
  • Coaches and mentors more junior engineers, indirectly responsible for their technical development. 
  • Acquires general knowledge of principles and practices of related fields, and ability to function on multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Provide guidance on technical issues to other technical departments.
  • Takes responsibility for maintaining their technical skills and staying up to date on changing regulations, advances in the field, and new technologies relevant to their work. Attends appropriate seminars and training to maintain and increase technical skill set.

  • Requires Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical) or a related technical degree 
  • 10+ years of experience or a Master's Degree and 7+ years of experience, or a PhD and 4+ years of experience
  • Ability to travel domestically and within Latin America up to 50%
  • Fluent in Spanish and English
  • PMP
  • PE
  • Fluency in Portuguese
  • Construction experience
  • Tire and/or rubber plant experience
