Buyer/ Planner II

Location: Phoenix, AZ, United States
  • Reviews and analyzes purchase requisitions.
  • Coordinates purchasing activities with manufacturing, planning and engineering departments to acquire inventory in a cost effective and timely manner.
  • Processes purchase requisitions, purchase change orders and requests for quotes to suppliers.
  • Responsible for procurement business system data input and integrity.
  • Participates in maximizing the procurement teams' changes, part parameters; quote table maintenance, supplier database information, error report analysis, and part number/supplier code information.
  • Monitors the cost, schedule and scope of assigned subcontracts to negotiate highest quality at best value.
  • Schedules products from design to production release, working with program management, engineering and production.
  • Identifies manufacturing constraints and works with operations team to reduce processing times.
  • Plans and schedules new products through qualification process.
  • Develops and implements new and improved processes and procedures to enhance productivity and efficiency.
  • Maintains purchasing records and prepares reports.
  • Ensures an MSDS is requested for all chemicals and chemical samples ordered.
  • Knows and follows the company's human resources policies and procedures.
  • Adheres to applicable employment laws.
  • Exemplifies and fosters teamwork within the company.
  • Promptly responds to concerns, issues, and suggestions and acts to ensure positive employee relations.
  • Regular attendance is required.
  • May occasionally be required to work overtime.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Knowledge of purchasing and planning practices and procedures.
  • Knowledge of electronics manufacturing.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Excellent customer services skills are required for contact with vendors and customers.
  • MRP system knowledge required.
  • Exercise good judgment regarding the appropriate quality and quantity of supplies and equipment.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with MRP- Oracle preferred.
  • Experience with purchasing of electronics or military parts a plus.
