Position Overview:
The Radiation Oncology team at Providence St. Mary Regional Cancer Center includes two radiation oncologists, a physicist, a department manager and four radiation therapists with an average daily volume of 30 patients. Equipment includes a Varian TruBeam and iX, ARIA/Eclipse and Brainlab for treatment planning. Treatments needing planning include SBRT/SRS, HDR, 3D/IMRT, and brachytherapy. 

In this position you will:

  • Actively participates in departmental and organization performance improvement activities in accordance with hospital and joint commission standards.
  • Demonstrates leadership by performing his/her work in a manner that meets or exceeds the level of care and service that PSMMC promotes to the communities we serve.
  • Participates in hospital and department specific practices to maintain a clean, safe and comfortable environment for patients and staff.
  • Maintains the security and confidentiality of data and information used in performance of his/her daily duties conforming to hospital policy, laws and regulations as appropriate.
  • Follows established policies and procedures to identify and reduce the risks of acquiring or transmitting infection.
  • Maintains positive working relationships and fosters a cooperative work environment.
  • Accurately performs dose calculations and the verification of mathematical accuracy of all calculations.
  • Consults with Medical Physicist and Radiation Oncologists, providing input into the treatment planning process.
  • Coordinates treatment simulations and tumor localizations, including CT and MRI, for treatment planning.
Required qualifications for this position include:
  • Bachelor's Degree required. 
  • Completion of a formal Dosimetry program accredited by JRCET.
  • One year experience as a Dosimetrist. 
  • CMD Certificate (Certified Medical Dosimetrist) or eligibility to take the certification examination. 
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
  • One year experience as a Registered Radiation Therapist prior to attending a Dosimetry school preferred.
  • RT(T) certification preferred.
