Locum: Anesthesiology Physician

Location: Worcester, MA, United States
- Ongoing position starting in March
- Call schedule: Weekday call is 16 hours a day and is in-house. Approximately 4 times a month. Post day call off
- Cardiac beeper/back up call: 6-7 calls a month for cardiac physicians
- Saturday, Sunday and holidays: 24-hour in-house call

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Evaluate patients to formulate an adequate anesthetic plan.
- Manage and administer anesthesia during surgical procedures.
- Record patient medical history and anesthetic amounts.
- Monitor, manage, and treat changes in patient functions during operations, including breathing, heart rate, and blood pressure.
- Monitor conditions of patients before, during, and after anesthesia to look out for adverse reactions
- Cases include general, ortho, urology, ENT/ophthalmology, bariatric, vascular, neuro, thoracic, GYN, dermatology, plastic, cardiac and OB. No trauma
- Coordinate and direct a team of nurses, medical technicians, and other healthcare professionals
- Order x-rays, laboratory tests, and other necessary diagnostic procedures.
- Collaborate and communicate with other medical professionals to determine care plans and provide high-quality patient care.
- Conduct research to make advancements in the field of Anesthesiology
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Certification from the American Board of Anesthesiology is required
- Active license in the state of Massachusetts is required
- DEA, ACLS, PALS and BLS are required
- Case logs required
- 1+ years of experience in an anesthesiologist role is preferred
- Case logs required
- Working knowledge of Epic strongly preferred
- Compassionate attitude with a focus on outstanding patient care
- Excellent communication skills to listen and speak with patients and colleagues
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Keen attention to detail
