Accounting Manager - Property & Investments

Job Description
The Accounting Manager of Property & Investments is a highly visible and dynamic role that will coordinate with operational groups related to fixed assets, inventory, construction-in-process, leases, and investments. Ensures that the financial transactions and statements are prepared in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Statutory Accounting Principles (SAP) , tax, other regulatory compliance and with corporate policies and objectives. Responsibilities include designing and maintaining effective internal controls and ensures they are adhered too. Ensures that all regulatory reporting requirements are met (monthly, quarterly, annual frequency) and maintains the accuracy, integrity, and timelines of the financial data and reporting for both internal and external audiences. This role is expected to manage staff through a robust management system that establishes goals, objectives and improvement opportunities; provide accounting expertise to internal customers throughout the enterprise and serve as a liaison with external agencies and internal departments; develop and maintain partnerships with operational departments including Finance, Treasury,  Audit Services, IT, Purchasing, and Facility Services.
Minimum Education Requirements
Bachelor's Degree Accounting or related field

Preferred Education
Master's Degree Accounting or related field

Minimum Knowledge/Skills Requirements
Advanced Extensive working knowledge of the following: accounting and financial management; GAAP; complex financial analysis; project management; and financial transaction flow within operational and financial systems. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications; Thinks independently, acts decisively and is self-directed. Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills. Demonstrated effective leadership skills. Proven ability to identify and solve complex problems

Preferred Knowledge/Skills
Advanced All minimum qualifications plus: Extensive knowledge of SAP, Peoplesoft; Working knowledge of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems and integrations of other health systems (Epic, claims, membership, pharmacy and cash handling). Knowledgeable of best practices within healthcare and insurance industries.

Minimum Experience Requirements
7 years Accounting and financial reporting; 3 years supervisory experience

Preferred Experience
7 years Accounting and financial reporting in a large healthcare or insurance industry experience; 3+ years supervisory experience

Minimum License/Certifications Requirements
None Required 

Preferred License/Certifications
At time of hire CPA license
