  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Tax
  • CPA or JD preferred
  • Minimum of 7 years of professional finance/accounting/tax experience, in a large corporation or public accounting firm.
  • Minimum 5 years of management of finance/accounting/tax department with proven leadership, organization and communication skills
  • State and Local Sales/Use tax knowledge
  • Ability to communicate with impact across all levels of an organization
  • Knowledge and experience with SAP and OneSource preferred
  • Proficiency with MS Office Applications
  • Lead the Sales/Use Tax Compliance Team.
  • Provide guidance and oversight to sales tax team members on various subjects including:
  • research of multiple state notices for sales tax issues and communicate/resolve issues directly with state tax authorities
  • exemption certificate inquiries
  • indirect tax law
  • Analyze sales tax data from billing systems to ensure the proper tax is collected and reflected on tax returns and supporting documentation. Communicate errors or discrepancies noted and assist in corrective actions.
  • Review and approve monthly sales/use tax returns, excise tax returns, and other various tax returns for multiple states using tax software and/or online filing systems.
  • Respond to exemption certificate inquiries.
  • Review and approve journal entries and general ledger account reconciliations for indirect tax accounts.
  • Provide training to key stakeholders on indirect tax changes.
  • Provide mentoring, coaching and timely feedback to teammates to strengthen their technical and professional skills.
