Manager/Database Development
 
Our client’s Interactive Services Operational Database team is looking for a highly-experienced Manager with a proven track record of building and maintaining multiple Relational Database Management Systems. This team consists of 8 direct reports and will report directly to the Vice President Technical Operations.
 
The core responsibilities consist of:
  • Manage and measure day-to-day activities of assigned staff in providing quality database support services which meet end user needs at the site level while adhering to department and Company policies, procedures, and methodologies
  • Provide leadership and direction on assigned technical projects/tasks
  • Establish and maintain a professional relationship with internal/external customers, team members and department contacts
  • Organize department-level activities to achieve optimum service delivery/systems/care/processes, setting high performance objectives for the department
  • Holds self and others accountable to meet stated objectives, outcomes, goals, timetables and commitments, adhering to standards even in the face of unforeseen circumstances
 
Key Attributes:
  • Must be a motivated, independent self-starter with a drive for quality and performance improvement
  • Experienced leader with background in database management and application development a plus
  • Strong communication skills
  • Knowledge of Lean concepts preferred
 
Qualifications:
Education
  • Bachelors’ degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in computer science, MIS, management or a related field required
  • Equivalent work experience in a similar position may be substituted for educational requirements
 
Experience
  • Minimum four years increasingly responsible experience in computer science or MIS required, which is to include two years database experience
  • Minimum two years supervisory experience preferred
  • Project management experience preferred
 
Technical
  • Understanding of general database concepts from build to operations is required
  • Experience with one or more RDMS systems is required
  • Application or database development experience preferred
