Sr. Analyst, Technology and Innovation

Position Summary & Key Areas of Responsibility
The Technology & innovation Senior Business Analyst for the company’s Software Solutions (SWS) team will be responsible for supporting the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) in analyzing, providing insights, thought-leading predictions, and actionable advice on Technology & Innovation trends, and projections.
 
Your work will directly support the CTO for external events—e.g. major customer meetings, industry events, interviews with the press, investors, etc.  It will also directly support internal events and ongoing challenges—e.g. The company’s innovation strategy, 90 Day Challenge priorities, portfolio investment decisions, competitive benchmarking, etc.  Your analyses and insights will be developed using a strategic framework, fact-based rigorous analysis, and a recurring review model, with strong, direct collaboration with the CTO.
 
In addition to working closely with the CTO and the VP of Business Operations for SWS, you will work other members of the SWS LT—especially the Chief Architect and his team, along with Product Management professionals.  Building a network of valued contacts in other THE COMPANY organizations, and entities outside of THE COMPANY—e.g. market research firms, industry analysts, contacts in other high-tech companies, etc.—will be invaluable.  Key THE COMPANY stakeholders may also include Industry Solution Group leaders, Sales teams, Finance and other organizations.
 
  • Regularly engage with the CTO to conduct ongoing research and prepare for special events. Present fact-based, rigorous analysis of assigned technology and innovation trends, provide implications for THE COMPANY, and identify actionable insights.
  • Develop reporting platforms/dashboards to provide visibility on The company’s position in key, enabling technologies (e.g. 3rd Platform, Data & Analytics, and Smart Edge) Create and execute work plans to complete assigned research projects that account for internal and external data sources and ensure inclusion of key stakeholders.
  • Produce high-quality, data driven analysis and narratives.
  • Conduct fact-based, rigorous analysis of the financial and strategic attractiveness of various technology industry segments using various models and frameworks.  
  • Conduct periodic technology industry overviews and present findings to the SWS LT.
 
Qualifications:
Successful candidates will have the following technical qualifications…
 
  • Up-to-date on the state-of-the-art in technology implementations within enterprises with a focus on digital technologies, trends, and enablers.
  • Understand business and industry trends and their impact on technology adoption.
  • Well versed in technology innovation and enterprise architecture concepts and frameworks.
  • Able to act and interact at the strategic end of a conversation with Executives and customers.
  • Intellectual curiosity, attention to detail, and the ability to see critical patterns and implications in data across the technology industry landscape.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to present complex technical issues
  • Core expertise in data mining and analytics; good at crunching numbers
  • Ability to conduct industry and technology analyses and provide actionable insights
  • Strategic approach to decision-making that links data, knowledge, and insights
  • Bachelor’s degree a technical field (e.g. Comp. Sci) or in Business Administration
  • MBA with a strategy and/or technical marketing orientation is an advantage.
  • Prior experience in consulting and/or analyzing technology trends
