Repairs complex electrical equipment (automated machines, controls, panels, relays, circuit breakers, communication systems and alarms). Installs electrical equipment with minimal instructions. Diagnoses problems, replaces or repairs parts, and detects and replaces defective control modules. Performs complex wiring assignments. Installs power, light, electronic and control circuits. Provides technical assistance to lower level maintenance electricians; as well as oversees and leads the directives of the Facilities Maintenance Technician.
Performs general maintenance and preventive/predictive maintenance on a variety of blow mold, injection, auxiliary and plant support equipment.
Demonstrates proven knowledge and skill of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic theory and procedure to troubleshoot.
Assist in minimizing downtime due to breakdown repairs and PMs.
Optimize the quality of products manufactured to the highest degree equipment is capable of producing.
Must be capable of performing maintenance and implement new devices within the SCADA system.
Respond to 24-hour emergency calls during off duty hours.
Shall possess the job knowledge to measure, bend, cut and install electrical conduits and have a clear understanding of circuit ampacity requirements and correct wire sizing.
Knowledge of the NFPA 70E and Arc flash hazard PPE requirements.
The ability to distinguish between energized and non-energized components within large electrical enclosures.
Ability to understand and utilize Wonderware software and work closely with Plant IT personnel to maintain/modify SCADA as needed.
Must be able to modify and troubleshoot using RSLogix 5000 ad 500.
Ability to understand and troubleshoot other plant programs with a high degree of competency.
Apply knowledge of machines and processes to analyze, setup and maintain equipment for safe and continuous operation (blow mold; drying; mechanical systems; design; construction).
Ability to apply knowledge of each technical requirement:
Electrical Skills: Ability to read electrical schematics and identify symbols and control circuits with a high degree of competency. Includes ability to understand and troubleshoot PLC controlled equipment, understanding of inputs and outputs. Ability to competently and with reasonable degree of accuracy troubleshoot electrical circuits. Must be capable of changing motors, install relays and starters, troubleshooting control circuits.
Hydraulic Skills: Ability to read hydraulic schematics and identify symbols and control circuits with a reasonable degree of competency. Ability to competently troubleshoot a hydraulic circuit. Must be capable of working on equipment to repair, change or upgrade the status of equipment.
Mechanical Skills: Must be capable of performing maintenance on all types of equipment represented in the plant with a reasonable degree of skill and competency. Must have a reasonable degree of skill with refrigeration, drying, conveying, fluid pumps, blowing and vacuum pumps, pneumatic circuits and welding.
Capable of maintaining accurate repair records.
Able to understand and follow work orders.
Perform other related duties as directed by the Plant Engineer or Maintenance Manager and be willing to perform other duties as assigned that may not necessarily fall within the scope of the duties outlined above.
High School Diploma, or equivalent. Some post-secondary education preferred (Technical or Vocational education)
3-5 years related experience, preferably in a manufacturing/production environment.
Strong analytical/troubleshooting skills.
Knowledge of maintenance and repair to blow mold, auxiliary and support equipment (mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic theory and procedure).
