Director, Reimbursement Financial Reporting (Healthcare Revenue)

Position Overview:
We are seeking a Director, Reimbursement Financial Reporting to be responsible for estimating net revenue and analyzing significant drivers as well as implementation of various strategic value added reimbursement initiatives for the system including, but are not limited to: Wage index reviews, Medicare Bad Debt optimization strategies, Medicaid Eligible Days reviews, various cost based optimization strategies, and any reimbursement methodology related to Medicare and Medicaid that have reimbursement implications.

The Director is responsible for ensuring compliance with all government reimbursement regulations and ensures adequacy of internal controls related to such are periodically assessed for adequacy. The Director is also responsible for the efficient operation of the functional team, including supervision and review of staff, assessing current workloads, and providing adequate oversight and prioritization of reimbursement related projects.

  • Direct month end close net revenue financial reporting and communicates financial results in recurring month end meetings with finance and revenue cycle leadership.
  • Oversee the preparation of the Analytical Review and the Executive Summary.
  • Conduct the close meeting.
  • Monitor the accuracy of net revenue estimates and implements updates as needed to improve them.
  • Guide the overall data and reporting strategy for Reimbursement.
  • Oversee the evaluation and preparation of various strategic reimbursement optimization strategies for the System and makes recommendations that positively impact existing reimbursement schemes.
  • Monitor workload and methodologies used to achieve results, making recommendations to improve efficiency and/or achieve cost savings whenever possible.
  • Plan functional team workload and manages such that all reports, projects, etc., are completed timely, efficiently, and with a high degree of accuracy. Responsible for review and evaluation of staff in accordance with Providence system policies.
  • Collaborate with other stakeholders around the system to probe, evaluate, synthesize, and articulate complex subject matter to facilitate needed improvements.
  • Perform reviews, research and other duties independently or as requested by the VP Head of Reimbursement, Operations CFO, or System CFO.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 10 years demonstrated experience in the healthcare revenue / reimbursement field with supervisory/management experience, and expert knowledge of current reimbursement and reporting rules and regulations.

  • CPA or CHFP
  • Previous work experience in consulting, in a multi-hospital system, or MAC
